Title: 'TRANSLATING BIALIK'.
Abstract: This presentation will outline
the problems and challenges of translating works of great literary merit
from Hebrew into English, in this case the novellas of Bialik, together
with extracts of the English translation by way of illustration. We will
highlight the extraordinary evocation of childhood presented in Bialik's
autobiographical novella, Random Harvest (in Hebrew Safiah).
