David Irving v Penguin Books and Lipstad
Analysis and history of the trial of British Holocaust denier David Irving vs. American professor Deborah Lipstad and Penguin Books. Galicia Jewish Museum
At the Galicia museum there is a photographic exhibition of the Jews of Galicia. The photographs are not of the war or the past but are contemporary photographs with the intention of showing what can be seen about the past. The site also features articles on the Exhibition, Jewish ruins, Jewish culture, Holocaust, Past and People. The site contains an online book shop.  Primary Sources: Photographs by Chris Schwarz include the following exhibitions 'Traces of Memory', a photographic tribute to Poland's Jewish Heritage and 'Polish Heroes' a photographic exhibition of those who have rescued Jews and are commemorated within the Yad Vashem. Secondary Sources: Information on a talk given by Joschka Fischer on 'Israeli- European Future in Partnership'.

The Holocaust--A Guide for Teachers (Gary Grobman)
Instructional guide for teachers by Gary Grobman for use in understanding the history of anti-Semitism and the Jewish people, the events occurring in Europe which led to the rise of Nazism and the machinery of technology and bureaucracy used in order to fight their 'War Against the Jews." The syllabus is broken down into suggested course topics and includes a bibliography.  Primary Sources: The home site features links to an image gallery, interviews with survivors and the children of concentration camp survivors, a virtual tour of Auschwitz, and excerpts from Abram Korn's memoirs recording his life in the Jewsih ghetto and concentration camp.

The Holocaust Album
This site is a collection of historical and contemporary photographs which are accompanied by descriptions and commentaries. The website looks particularly at three subjects: The Death March, Solly Ganor, who was a Holocaust survivor who writes about her experiences on this site. It also includes reviews of her book 'Light One Candle'. The third section that the site looks at is 'Visas for life: The remarkable story of Chiune and Yukike Sugihara, which is the story (accompanied with photos) of a Japanese diplomat and his wife who risked their careers and futures to save Jews during World War Two. This site is part of Shamash, The Jewish Network. It provides links to many different sites about the Holocaust which includes surveys, testimonials (including them from SS men), and excerpts from many original documents such as Nazi documents. The source also focuses and gives information on Holocaust denial  and includes source documents to refute these claims. The Holocaust Teacher Resource Centre is dedicated to the memory of the six million Jewish people slaughtered during the Holocaust. The site 'strives to combat prejudice and bigotry by transforming the horrors of the Holocaust in to positive lessons to help make this a better and safer world for everybody'. This site is for educators and contains a lot of material which is available for downloaded, for classroom use. The wide range of sources available for download makes the virtual Holocaust Teacher Resource Centre very informative and useful. Primary Sources: Included Testimonials are from The Virginia War Museum, The National Council of Jewish Women, Yad Vashem and the United Jewish Community of the Virginia Peninsula inc. Learning from History
This site 'publishes continuously projects about National socialism, the Holocaust, World War Two and human rights that are realised in historical and citizenship education in and outside schools and memorial museums as well as public discourse about these issues today'. The site aims to educate people about the Holocaust and presents a range of different projects for this. The projects differ greatly from topics such as 'Forced Labour in Germany' to 'texts against Amnesia'. The site is good for specific projects but does not seem to give a good general description of the Holocaust in anyway. This site contains a huge range of literature on the Holocaust which is  alphabetically arranged. The literature differs greatly in content and is derived from essays, news articles, journals as well as many other sources. The site is updated regularly and contains a good search engine which is useful as there is so many different articles. The site also includes recent news and shows the most popular searches. The Nuremberg Project
The Harvard Law School library has approximately one million pages of documents relating to the trials of military and political leaders of Nazi Germany. In order to preserve these documents they have been published on line with analytical information about each document and general information about the trials. The site looks at many trials and also provides photographs and a comprehensive in site search engine.   Primary Sources: 13,904 digital photographs of all pages of all case 1 prosecution and defence trial documents and related evidence file documents. The keyed text of the first seven days of court proceedings in the case 1 trial transcript. Analytical data on all trial documents and related evidence file documents.

Re-Examination of Wannsee (Edith Shaked)
Section of the Nizkor Project, an excellent website "Dedicated to the millions of Holocaust victims who suffered and died at the hands of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime." This section features a brief examination of the Wannsee Conference where German officials decided upon the means for the destruction of "Jews of Europe" known as the "Final Solution." Includes an analysis by Edith Shaked, lists of Tunisian Jewish victims and Members of the Tunisian Jewish Resistance, and a bibliography.

Comments Also suitable for teachers of A level History. Examines the fact that Wannsee did not only refer to European Jews but North African as well, since most ‘French’ Jews were in Colonial North Africa, not the Mainland of France, and so were deported.

This site shares art, discussion, photos, poems and facts to 'preserve powerful memories' about the Holocaust. The site contains many different sources and aspects in regards to the Holocaust. There are many photographs and exhibitions available to view on the site. There is also a variety of virtual tours. The site is good for teachers as it contains lesson plans, resources and a lot of historical information. There are many complete online books available mainly written by Holocaust survivors, rescuers and liberators. There is also a student gallery, discussion boards and a family tracing search!

A very well presented site which is packed with all sorts of information dealing with a variety of aspects in regards to the Shoah.  The aim of the site is to educate the public and the church about the Shoah, as although the Shoah is known by all it seems its messages have not been understood. The project 'wants to change hearts and perspectives to make us all more tolerant of one another'.  The site includes a very detailed slideshow which is available for download. Website named after Simon Wiesenthal, a death camp survivor and "world famous Nazi hunter".  The Center's concerns include: the prosecution of Nazi war criminals; Holocaust and tolerance education; Middle East Affairs; and extremist groups, neo-Nazism, and hate on the Internet. The Museum of Tolerance Multimedia Learning Centre offers virtual exhibitions and a multimedia resource centre featuring teacher's resources from the high school to college level. Primary Sources: 13,785 documents in English, German and Hebrew from the Institute of Documentation in Israel, and some photographic material related to current exhibitions. Whilst widely know as the Centre for ‘Hunting down Nazis', this site reveals the other strand to the work of the centre, that is, work leading towards tolerance and combating the use of Nazism as a comparison with Israeli behaviour.

 
Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation
This website gives information about and access to the Jewish Historical Museum. The Resource centre includes many different types of information in regards to the survivors of the Shoah. Literature includes publications, catalogues and references which look at Jewish history, culture and religion. There are also photos (both historical and documentary), paintings, prints and drawings. There are many audio resources such as liturgical, folk music and a range of interviews. Also available is documents, videos, documentaries, microfiches , current magazines and a press cuttings archive. Information of which are available through the website.  Primary Sources: Jewish Press items from 'Dutch Jewish Weeklies' from 1865-1940, Memory of the Netherlands: Images from the JHM Collection.  Secondary Sources: Exhibition of the Jewish religion and tradition which includes contemporary Jewish life, annual festivals, Shabbat and more. The underlying theme of the exhibition is the Jewish vision of tikum olam.

Impressive virtual museum offering instructional materials for students, instructors and the general public. Primary Sources: Kristallnacht Vandalism photographs, survivor testimony and textual narratives from the "Personal Histories", a "secret record" of Nazi repression by Avraham (Golub) Tory,  the secretary of the Jewish council in the Kovno ghetto and many other resources related to the Museum's current and past exhibitions, a small preview of which is available on line.

Comments Excellent site for all teachers from KS 3/4 upwards.A user-friendly site. It links with real experiences, using photographs and quotes from people in each section (such as: ‘In Hiding’), using accessible language. It states that it ‘includes information on the incarceration by the Nazis of other minority groups.’
 

Voices of the Holocaust
This site is a documentary project which contains a 16 volume set of typescripts which were recently uncovered in the Paul V. Galvin Library. The volumes give first hand accounts of 'horrible brutality, incredible survival and liberation of Holocaust victims'. These include many interviews from survivors from 1946. The site contains bibliographies and sound files so that it is possible to listen to 'the voices of the Holocaust'. The site presents good primary source material for scholars interested in the Holocaust.  Primary Sources:  Interviews from displaced people in France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland representing many economic levels, religions, nationalities and language groups from across Europe. Voice-Vision -- Holocaust Survivor Oral Histories
This site focuses upon Dr. Sid Bolkosky's interviews with over 150 Holocaust survivors. All resources from Yad Vashem are excellent and world standard in this field. Photo archives are of particular interest to bring (even horrific) History alive.
