100 Years of Zionism
This site is about Israel and is designed to teach people about Israel and Jewish culture. The site is split into different sections; Symbols of Israel, Time Lines, Personalities and Leaders and Cities in Israel. All these sections also contain a quiz. The site also has a 'Hebrew Survival Kit' with Hebrew vocabulary. The site is very well presented and has on online chat room. Primary Sources: Biographies include Theodor Herzl, Eliezer Ben Yehuda, Golda Meir, Yitzchak Rabin and Yosef Trumpeldon, Time line of events from 1897-1997, Hebrew Time line from 1870-1948.  Secondary Sources: Information on early settlements in Israel and modern Israeli cities.

Avalon Project
This site contains digital documents grouped by the Centuries they were written from the eighteenth Century (although it also contains some that are older that this) onwards. The documents are about Law, History and Diplomacy and value has been added to the text by the linking to supporting documents which are expressly referred to in the body of the text. The site has a good advanced search engine with 240 documents about Israel in the 20th Century documents alone.  Primary Sources: Within the Nuremberg Trial section- The trial of the major war criminals before the international military tribunal, including the final report on the evidence of witnesses for the Defence of organisations alleged to be criminal, Report of Robert H. Jackson, United States representative to the international conference on military trials, London 1945.

AZRA
This site is about by the 'Association of Reform Zionists of America'. AZRA works as the Zionist arm of the Reform movement and is an affiliate of the Union for Reform, serving 1.5 million Reform/ Progressive Jews. The group and site focuses on Israel and puts its emphasis on advocacy, travel, Jewish identity and Zionist education in America. Central Zionist Archives
"The official historical archives of the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency, the Jewish National Fund, Keren Hayesod and the World Jewish Congress. It also holds the personal papers of individuals involved in the Zionist movement or active in Palestine/Israel." The site offers a brief overview of the archive's holdings, a guide to the holdings (the contents of whole record groups and collections, not individual files), virtual exhibitions, Jewish Filmography database, Jewish film poster gallery, Max I. The pedagogic center of the Jewish Agency for Israel. Features news briefs, departmental information, Hasbara tools and resources, DataJEM database of Jewish educational materials, Israel and Zionism teaching resources and activities, online chat rooms and community forums, and job listings, a section on Jerusalem including a history and Jerusalem FAQ page. This site contains historical and geographical maps of Israel. You can select any place on the map of Israel and find any city. When you have selected a place the site gives you a short description of the place and area, information on its historical background, photographs and information on main attractions. It is possible to view the main attractions in great detail. The Floersheimer Institute for Policy Studies
The Institute's goal is to research Israeli government decisions at the local and state level, to analyse the long-term implications of these processes, and to offer alternative policies and strategies. The site offers abstracts of policy papers and policy statements listed by subject, year, and/or researcher. Full texts of policy papers are available in Word format. Ha'aretz (English Edition)
An independent daily newspaper with a "broadly liberal outlook" founded in Jerusalem in 1919 by a group of Zionist immigrants, mainly from Russia. The paper's offices have been housed in Tel Aviv since 1922.  The paper appears daily (except Saturdays), in four broadsheet sections: news and sports; business and finance; opinion and features; and arts and leisure. Additional supplement sections include: a multimedia supplement on Tuesdays, a book review section on Wednesdays, a weekend magazine on Fridays and a monthly health magazine.  The website allows access to all current articles and supplements. There is an archive (currently under construction) but previous editions for the current month are available, and the site offers an "in-depth" options which displays past articles related to the day's news events.

Hagshama
Hagshama is a department of the World Zionist Organisation. This site 'is here to help you define your relationship with Israel and encourage you to participate in Israel's and your community's future'. The Hagshama encourages young people to develop a sense of belonging and responsibility to the State of Israel. The Hagashama is a process of stages to become an Aliyah beginning with education and study. There are many resource categories available on the site such as 'Museum and Memorials' and 'Media and the Press'. The site also looks at Hagshama around the world and gives information on programs in Israel. Israel Science and Technology homepage
This is a national database and directory of Science and Technology related sites in Israel. The site also has sections on Jewish scientists and students in the Diaspora. Information on the site is organised into two general dimensions, 1. By subject matter and 2. By type of organisation. As well as a lot of scientific information there is also a section on Jewish studies that includes information on  Nobel Laureates and Jewish activists and scientists. Secondary Sources: Articles include 'The Expulsion of Jewish Chemists and Biochemists from academia in Nazi Germany', 'Nobel medals of Jewish physicists during World War Two', 'History of Jewish Astronomy'. Jerusalem Post Daily Internet Edition
Published daily, except Saturdays, national and religious holidays, in Jerusalem, Israel, the internet edition offers the same material as the print edition sections: news, business, sports, opinion, arts, tourism, real estate, Judaism online, and special sections on literature and health. Jerusalem Post Radio is available in Media Player format, there is an interactive "Reader's Forum" option, an Online Media Kit displaying the newspaper's demographics, advertising rates and other sales information, and an option to receive the email edition of the paper. There is an online newspaper archive (full text of past articles costs approximately $1.00 US apiece.)

The Jerusalem Report
A bi-monthly online magazine offering coverage of Jewish political, social and cultural issues in Israel, the Middle East and and the world at large. Offers current news and editorials with special sections on Palestine, Israel and the Middle East, a Jewish World, as well as editorials and features on arts and literature, and business. There is no online searchable archive, but a search request can be made via email. For a specific article, the charge for a search is $7.00 US; for articles on a general subject $10.00 US.

Jewish Virtual Library Zionism
This site aims to help teach people about Israel and Zionism. It also aims to facilitate the formation of partnerships between Israelis and Americans. There is a large range of Zionist descriptions and articles on this site all with links to further information. The articles ranges from general Zionism to articles such as 'Zionist Shekel', 'Territorialism' and 'Jewish Colonial Trust'. The site also has a 'Virtual Israel Experience'. The Knesset Website- The Israeli Parliament
Knesset is the legislative body of the State of Israel. The website provides information on proposed legislation, debates and special debates in the Plenum, issues discussed in committees, summaries of sessions, announcements, activities of the Knesset factions and the activities of the 120 members of the Knesset. The site also provides information on the history of the Knesset, protocols and the history of the Knesset building. It is also possible to go on a virtual tour of the Knesset building. Manchester and Zionism Virtual Exhibition
An interactive virtual exhibition produced by the Centre for Jewish Studies, University of Manchester, in 1998. From the site: "This virtual exhibition" is an on-going project to outline the development of Zionism in Manchester. The narrative comprises a sequentially arranged set of panels, with links to related topics and primary source material including photos, documents and letters. There are also details regarding relevant archives, suggested further reading, a list of photographic sources, a photo library, a note on the nature of the research involved, and links to other internet sites. The aim is to outline some of the main figures, organisations and events that gave Manchester its reputation as "the cradle of Zionism".  Primary sources: Scanned documents, letters and images.

The Zionist Library
Offers many fundamental texts of Zionism, generally in English translation, focusing on the pre-World War I period. In addition the site contains links to news sources and internet resources, and a section of essays (currently under construction). Zionist Organisation of America
This is the official site of and about the 'Zionist Organisation of America'. The organisation fights for the Jewish people and the Land of Israel. It is the only organisation that documents and exposes Palestinian Arab violations of the Road Map Plan. The organisation works on the front lines of Jewish activism. The site aims to educate American people and the Congress about Israel. The organisation also fights anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias in the media and on college campuses.  Primary Sources: Photo galleries and video highlights of ZOA events. ZOA's statement on campus Anti-Semitism to the US commission on civil rights, White House press briefing which mentions the ZOA.
